The best time of year....BBq Season. The sweet smell of warm bbq sauce, grilled meat and roasted vegaetables is our favorite time of year. With so much information available on recipes, bbq styles and equipment this seasonal cooking procedure is becoming a lifestyle.

We like to use fresh ingredients with lots of color. Using our environment is where we have an advantage. If you live in Vancouver or Richmond, the amount of fresh seafood, produce and butcher's are more than abundant.
Steveston, Granville Island, Lonsdale Quay, Kitsilano are only a few areas I can think of. With a little research you can find small specialty stores and markets with amazing ingredients for your homemade culinary adventure.
You don't have to have taken 3 years of culinary school or been a cook professionally to enjoy gourmet recipes in your own home. The best part of bbq'ing or cooking at home is you control what goes into your food and sometimes a little careful experimenting may lead to a 5 star hotel recipe without you even knowing it's happening.
Always keep your hands clean.
Don't be afraid to use unique ingredients such as bourbon for bbq sauces and meat marinades, wines for sauces and dips and my favorite spice for everything!!!
