What makes a good Server/Waiter(ess)?

SipSum Cocktailz wants to hear from you? We have spent the past year visiting as many restaurants as we can to research service quality. Believe it or not Vancouver and the lower mainland have a lot to offer with regards to great places to eat, but not all provide the service we pay for.



Were not talking about the walking, talking robots of glorified chains, which for legal purposes will remain nameless.... but they know who they are. They hire only size one or less girls with a fake smile and a chip inserted into their brain spewing an automated response to every guests question.



Were talking about creative little places with true people waiting on you and providing you with an experience. Over the past few years I will admit that the service industry has become as automated as the women's voice you hear on hold for pretty much any company that has a hold option. Which is everyone!

So we would like to know...What makes a great server? What do you expect when you pay for service. After all your hard earned money is tipping these individuals. Are you happy with service your getting these days?
